Twas the Weekend Before New Year’s…

January 1, 2008

And all through the land, not a decent thing at the movies, so we took matters into our own, emmm, hands.

The children were all safely protected (or grown as the case may be) and out of the way, so that the ladies could all go out and… play.

We loaded the mini van, Dennie, Sandi, and me, for we were off to meet our friend Amie, you see.

Amie, most excited, lead the way and “watch out drivers, you’re in the way!”

We took the exit with a turn and a jerk, passed a sleazy motel and wondered… “Where the @&%^ are we?”  For it was not the most… savory of places.

When what to our wondering eyes should appear?  A cluster of nondescript buildings which we observed with some saying, “Oh, dear.”

We spoke not a word, but followed our lead, who took us to what was the biggest place to begin our educational deed.

We entered confidently, but a few of us trembled, and ambled the aisles wondering… “Does this come with… (whispering to ourselves) batteries?”

The video selection was a large collection, but one of us was brave and partook from the collection.

We gazed with amazement at the awesome selection of goodies and toys, and finally, but only three of us gathered our poise.

We headed to check out, our booty in hand, and had to witness the testing of our contraband.  (OMG!)

Next was a smaller, less likely of places.  Let me just say, you just never know what kind of people you’ll see in these places!

A really old man, on an oxygen tank, perusing the gay video section… Man, what a skank!

The third place was hoppin.  It was a wonderful site.  Videos galore and for every delight.

Its toy selection finally appealed to our holdout, while the other three waited, she purchased her new thing to try out.

We wondered back to the cars, and discussed our next move, where we decided that food was where our best option stood.

It was then exclaimed, as we drove quickly away, “We hope your sexually oriented business stays open, so we can come another day!”

New memories were made.  Thank you, sweet ladies, for you made my day.  It was a perfect way to end 2007.  How will we top it in 2008?  (SFO anyone?)

You can see Amie’s take on our adventure over at Naughty and Spice.

Thanks, Cathie. It was truly an adventure, which ended very tamely. Watching “Failure to Launch” and drinking martinis.
